STRATEGIC ACTION PLAN for HANCOCK PARK GARDEN CLUB 2018
Based on responses to the Membership Survey
LONG TERM GOAL:
Provide stimulating and educational programs, workshops and field trips for our membership in a congenial atmosphere and continue to support our neighborhood by identifying worthwhile projects which we can support both physically and financially through our fundraisers.
SHORT TERM GOALS:
Calendar: Vary our meeting dates to include one evening meeting and one Thursday meeting to include those unable to attend the regular Tuesday meetings.
Committees: Encourage more practical hands-on workshops
Field Trips: Determine interest in a long distance garden tour
Fundraiser: Identify projects/recipients of our fundraisers before planning an event. Establish goals.
Leaflet and Web Site: Continue to stay up to date technologically and expand the use of links to informative sources.
Membership: Find new ways to better incorporate new members more effectively and eventually transition them into leadership roles.
GCA Interest Areas
Horticulture: Emphasize the application of horticultural knowledge for use in our own gardens. Continue popular hands-on workshops.
Conservation: Provide programs and field trips which highlight a healthy, practical and sustainable approach to gardening and neighborhood landscaping with an eye to becoming better stewards of the environment.
Photography: Provide a workshop to help members feel more comfortable with taking great garden photos using their mobile devices.
Garden History and Design: Continue to include visits to high quality gardens within our yearly programs.
Floral Design: Provide club programs and workshops which teach techniques and design ideas for beautiful arrangements for our homes (made, perhaps) using our own foliage and flowers.
